Looking for something cool to get into tomorrow night? Well go see what a filmmaker can pull off in 24 hours! Brainchild of Michael Samstag, the Knoxville 24HR Film Festival is intended to showcase the artistic talent in East TN. (Did you know that East TN has one of the largest number of film festivals in the south? Who knew, right?). The concept is simple. On June 2nd (see promo trailer below), they gave the registered filmmaker teams a specific line of dialogue, prop, character and scene and 24 hours to make a few minute length film! Then on the evening of Saturday, June 14th they will show all the films and the judges will decide which was the best! It is pretty amazing to see all the ways in which the super secret elements are interpreted and executed in such a short period of time.
What to expect: Lots of cool film people speaking film talk, lots of people pretending they actually understand cool film talk, random actor sightings, actual cool 2-4 minute films made by teams that have entered the contest, los of losers and one winner (you can pick your fave)
Where it will be: The gorgeous Bijou Theatre, after party is at Preservation Pub
What to bring: Your swagger! Strut down the red carpet if you buy a VIP package otherwise you get to be a plebe like the rest of us and enter without red carpet fanfare! For ticket info click HERE.
