I don’t know about you, but fall in East Tennessee is my absolute, hands down, favorite time of year! I seriously count down the days until Pumpkin Spice Lattes are served, I love watching the turn of fall leaves in the Smokies, and I celebrate my self made annual, “Eat Pie for Breakfast” day, to welcome my favorite time of year. Of course, there are so many activities to choose from during fall in Knoxville it is hard to get them all on the Knox & You in 52 October Calendar of Events. So, I try and mix it up a little each year, but there are always a few favorites that are staples.
Must Attend Events:
One of my favorite fall events is the HOLA Festival. Get a first hand view with this quick video from the HOLA celebration a few years ago. I promise it is a celebration not to be missed…PS go hungry!
BOO at the Zoo is just a must see especially for families with children. It is a night that is absolutely packed with costumes, candy, and animals (of course) that is all for a great cause and fun for everyone in a safe environment.
Maybe you did this in college, or maybe you never went, but the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the beautiful TN Theatre is just too much fun not to miss!! Don’t forget to dress up and bring some rain gear.
This year the City of Knoxville has put together a great list of different Halloween related activities with a short bit of information about each event, for example:
Frightworks (September 30-October 31)
