Ever wondered about what it would be like to really enjoy a lunch break? How you could get out of your old sit down to a boring lunch and probably work while you are eating routine? Well one possible solution is the Blue Plate special in downtown Knoxville! I have mentioned it several times on various Knox & You In 52 calendar’s, and this Monday I went down to catch a live show myself.
The show’s are usually solo artists or small bands that play live at the Knoxville Visitor Center at the corner of Gay St and Summit Hill Drive. The shows are actually also live on WDVX or streaming on line. You can check out the schedule in advance and learn more about the artists at the WDVX website. I know I thoroughly enjoyed the mellow folk sounds of a local musician, Joe Overton, while I sipped on some coffee and milled around the bookstore. Followed by a delicious and quick lunch at Cafe 4, a short walk away on Market Square, it was a nice break from a typical Monday.
So break on through to the other side! Get a taste of local music (for free) and a break for your everyday lunchtime routine.
